The links below will take you to working examples of these Teaching
Templates.
Type A. Question
and Answer (Free Flash 5 player required)
Steps for Faculty
1.Use Microsoft Word to create a numbered list of questions.
Leave a line space between each question. At the present time the module
can handle up to 99 questions but that could be extended if there is
interest. In the same document create a list of answers that are
numbered to correspond to the questions. Leave a space between
each answer. Do not interleave questions and answers. The
question list should be separate from the answers list.
Also indicate the text you want placed on the opening screen and
the Q and A screen ( Course title, subject, topic, etc).
2. Double check your document for spelling, punctuation,
typos, and clarity.
3. Save to a floppy disk that has your name, date, office
location, phone
number, and filename on the label.
4. Send the floppy disk to Bruce Bird in Schwartz 104B.
5. I will return the floppy to you with an HTML file and a
Flash file.
6. Use FrontPage to import the two files into your web site.
7. Provide a hyperlink to the HTML page.
8. If you or your students do not yet have the free Flash 5 player, then download it from http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
9. View your Questions and Answers.
10. Contact me (x2262) if you want to distribute your Q
and A on floppy disk or CD-ROM.
Note:
I can not respond to rush requests. I will try to
provide a two week turn around time but I do not guarantee it.
I will be happy to discuss with faculty the development of other
possible interactive teaching templates that they think will help
students. Contact Bruce Bird at x2262.
Type B. Drag
and Drop - Sequence Items (Free Flash 5 player
required.)
Steps for Faculty
1. Use Microsoft Word to create a numbered list of paired
items. Separate the paired items with a comma. At the
present time the template is set up for 5 paired items per page but that could
be extended to 10 paired items per page if desired. There is
essentially no limit on the number of pages that could be included in
the Flash movie. Also indicate the text you want placed on the
screen for explanation.
Add any comments or
hyperlinks to the html page.
8. If you or your students do not yet have the free Flash
player, then download it from http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
9. View your Drag and Drop Exercise..
10. Contact me (x2262) if you want to distribute your
Drag and Drop Exercise on floppy disk or CD-ROM.
Type C. ImageQuiz
(Free Flash 5 player
required.) The example shown is for a map, but any image
(graphics, words, equations, pictures, paintings, sheet music, etc.) can be
used. ( Note: The examples listed below are template variations
of a basic ActionScript program that I have written. Most of these
examples provide two questions as a demonstration of the capability of
ImageQuiz but any number of questions can be included that are accessed
by question number, Next button, or Random button. Also the grading
matrix can easily be modified to meet your requirements. Please contact
Bruce Bird, x2262, if you wish to discuss a template design that would
better fit your students needs.)
