Introduction:

Teachlets offered by CALT are not typical workshops. The emphasis is on creating teaching materials.  You will learn the software as you create. Faculty are required to bring to the first Teachlet meeting an outline of the teaching materials or teaching application that they wish to work on..  The initial Teachlet will consist of a 1-hour overview of the software, its operation, and suggestions for using the software to create the particular teaching materials of interest. . The participant will then be given a resource text and the software will be installed in his or her office computer.  If needed, follow up support will be available in the form of  additional Teachlets.  Most Teachlets  will be brief, one-on-one sessions, lasting from 1/2 to1 hour.  Teachlets are offered by appointment at the Arnold campus throughout the year. Contact Bruce Bird, X2262 or blbird@mail.aacc.cc.md.us .

The bookmark links in the Faculty Teachlets table above will take you down this page to Teachlet descriptions, assumed computer competency of participating faculty, and estimate of the level of difficulty of the software.  If you are not familiar with the software products covered in each Teachlet, be sure to use the resource links provided at the end of each workshop description. The table below gives my rough estimate of the level of each workshop assuming the participant has a certain amount of familiarity with Microsoft Windows 95/98, Microsoft Word, and Web navigation.
