Streaming Media Examples
| In order to hear or see the following examples you must first download
the free RealPlayer G2 player from the RealSystems site at Download
RealPlayer This will take about an hour or so to download with a 28.8 Kb/s
modem. (See 12/15/99 note below.) Note: As of 2/17/99 all of the linked examples below work with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.5. Sometimes an example doesn't run properly. Try reloading it, then it usually runs OK. Earlier versions of these browsers are less likely to run all of these examples correctly. (8/7/99) All examples have been changed to reflect the new RealServer address and are now working. (8/28/99) Examples 4,8,9,10 do not work if you access from college LAN. Why some work and some don't is a mystery at the moment. It may be a firewall issue. All examples work when you connect from the outside. (12/15/99) All examples now work from both the Web and the college LAN. If you update RealPlayer to version 7, then you may have to adjust the memory usage on your computer. We have found on the college Acer 350 MHz, 64 MB, Pentium II computers that it is necessary to decrease the hardware acceleration setting, otherwise the computers lock up. To make this adjustment go through the following procedure:
