Steps for New Faculty
Note:
In case you missed Tour A, go to the home page for CALT ( http://www.aacc.cc.md.us/calt ) and click on CALT NEWS. There you will find a link to Tour A: CALT, the Web, and Beyond.
Possible steps for introducing technology (where appropriate) into your instruction.
1. Use CALT as a gateway to the Web. Study what other professors are doing with the Web. (Useful links will be found in the Teaching section and the Learning section of CALT.)
2. Have your department or division buy some CD-ROMS related to your discipline. Study the techniques for presenting information and for testing on that information.
3. Register for the FrontPage 98 workshops. (Contact Paul Tucci or IPD). At the completion of the workshops you will be able to create and publish Web materials for your courses from your office or from your home computer.
4. Be a NAG. Join the New Authoring Group ( http://www.aacc.cc.md.us/calt/caltnews.htm ). First meeting of NAG is Tuesday, September 15 from 2:15 to 3:30PM in Humanities 207.
5. Take any necessary computer training through IPD.
6. Use CALT. See ( http://www.aacc.cc.md.us/calt/caltnews.htm ) for suggestions on "How to Use CALT Resources".
7. Have fun. Build the future.
